Why the shop price is higher
- Import duty — charged per unit weight and reset at each budget.
- Quota premium — Nepal caps how much gold can be imported, so constrained supply trades above world parity. This premium widens and narrows.
- Dealer and association margin — FENEGOSIDA sets the retail figure jewellers quote.
- Making charges (ज्याला) — on finished jewellery, charged on top of the metal rate.
Because each of those moves independently, the gap between this figure and the published Nepali rate is not a fixed percentage.
